Hi everyone,

For a long time now, I’ve been meaning to get round to add some ‘social’ stuff to this blog apart from the standard Comments box because after all, a blog really isn’t a blog if you can’t share what you find with your friends and colleagues, right?

Well today you can probably see for yourself that I’ve gone completely bonkers with it all and have added all the good stuff so you can share away to your heart’s content (please!).

First thing to get added was a signature plugin so I could add ‘stuff’ to the bottom of each post like my ugly mug, my name, a link to one of my other sites and an invitation to sign up for my internet marketing tips newsletter together with an optin form.

Next up on my list was the Facebook ‘Like’ and ‘Send’ buttons so if you don’t know (which I’m sure you do), clicking ‘Like’ will add any posts here to the users News Feed in their Facebook account and the ‘Send’ is for sending the post privately to your Facebook friends, i.e. it doesn’t appear on your wall.

Once I had that, I added the Digg button which I found by searching for plugins from my WordPress dashboard and finally, I added the oh-so-cool SexyBookmarks plugin to the bottom of each post so it can be shared across a multitude of social bookmarking sites, including Twitter.

I also added TwitterFeed to my arsenal of ‘getting it out there’ tools so any blog posts I make here should end up in both my Twitter and Facebook accounts as well. I just love the automation that’s available now.

Anyway, that’s it for this post so if you’re a bit of a techno-phobe when it comes to WordPress like me and have been putting off ‘going social’ with your blog, maybe just spare a couple of hours and get it done so you can enjoy some more organic traffic.
